I recently stayed at a magical and fabulous place in Permet, Albania. This ancient castle-turned-hotel owned by the descendants of the earls who lived here is a true gem. The authentic interior and the owners' respect for traditions create a unique atmosphere. The warm welcome, the delicious traditional breakfast with hot pancakes, and the breathtaking view of the mountains made my stay unforgettable. The comfortable beds, beautiful furniture, and the opportunity to stargaze added to the charm of this place. It was definitely a highlight of my road trip.

The Traditional Guesthouse in Permet was a truly enchanting place for a senior like myself to stay. The house itself, classified as a Cultural Monument, showcased the beauty of traditional Albanian rural living. The decoration and general areas of the hotel were simply stunning, transporting me back to a bygone era. The accessibility for senior people was commendable, with the hosts ensuring our comfort and safety throughout our stay. The picturesque views of the river from the hotel were absolutely breathtaking, a sight I will cherish forever.

Though I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Traditional Guesthouse, I believe a slight improvement could be made in terms of providing better guidance for senior travelers. As someone not familiar with the area, it would have been helpful to have clearer instructions and assistance from the children working there on navigating the unpaved road leading to the hotel.
